A specialized hospital for East Vienna.
Donaustadt Hospital was constructed to provide the residents of the eastern part of Vienna with medical care. This complex with 1.385 inpatient beds was planned as a strip complex which is highly interactive with the surrounding area. Three pavillion structures with nursing wards and the option of adding a fourth pavillion if necessary are connected directly to the examination and treatment wing. In the construction of the last unit – the psychiatric facility – the ward was designed as an independent building, specifically adapted to the needs of the patients treated there.
