A new 5* luxury hotel with 134 rooms, 17 suites and 22 serviced apartments was to be planned. The project included the entire castle area, comprising the refurbishment of the old castle which is to be preserved as a historical monument, and a new building in the park accommodating a spa and pool area.
Although the entire complex reflects various historical building styles, it is largely characterized by Renaissance elements which give it a unique architectural language regarding its façade structures, proportions and shadow patterns. It is this language which is understood as the leading concept for the new structure as well. The new façade elements which are dominated by two materials - sandstone and copper – take up this concept, re-interpret it and carry forward the historical design in a harmonious manner. Thus, the various contents of the newly built complex are coming to the fore, yet unobtrusive in their appearance, creating a unity both in aesthetics and function.
The highest priority was given to the sensitive treatment of a structure grown over various periods, and the tactful and discreet development of the overall concept.
