Modern interactions between people, space and time.

The design by Moser Architects convinces with a light, transparent and “”iconic” main building volume to symbolise the high priority and ambition of “SMARAGD – The Hospital of the Future” – currently Europe’s most cutting-edge and future-oriented hospital, designed in clear cubic lines.

Humane and eco-sensitive construction.

Key elements of architectural planning included ecological optimisation and sparing land use: the cubic shape presents the smallest possible exterior surface and leaves most of the plot free for the surrounding park and future additions.

Green and open spaces benefit the surrounding municipal district.

Generous public spaces are thus created, e.g. the urban square as a forecourt facing Brünner Strasse as well as ample green zones. The project enhances the urbanistic appeal of this northern municipal district of Vienna. The effect on the city as a whole generates a new sense of identification, orientation and a wide range of development possibilities. This design is a perfect example of extraordinary and inspiring architecture. The light, aesthetically pleasing architecture of this hospital of the future is a model of effective spatial design and a friendly atmosphere.
