Contemporary extension and refurbishment with comfortable ambience.
Designed by Gustav Peichl and built in the late 1960s, Meidling Rehabilitation Center was established for patients with traumatic brain injury. A unique trait of this building lies in its close ties with the neighboring Meidling Accident Hospital, which results in key synergies for medical care delivery and internal utility services. The existing rehabilitation center was to be primarily extended by an additional wing with patient rooms for day therapy in order to house administrative and therapy facilities in the old volume. While transforming the old building, special attention was paid to maintaining its visual appearance due to its landmark status.
